we have a blog! wow. what a blog. isnt this something!
perhaps its cliche to have the first post on a blog say "Wow! I have a blog now!" but perhaps it is also tradition. Who is to say
whatever the case is. i feel a blog is something more and more important to have now. i'm a nascent musician, i need a brand! i need a place where people can come find me consistenly, where i can say "Here is what I am up to!"
and so far, all the social media services feel. Finicky. fragile. Bad. Still immensely useful, but for how much longer?
so what is an angel to do? Am I gonna start a Youtube page? Beholden myself to whatever other digital landlords exist? This sucks! I don't want to deal with digital landlords!
unfortunately we have to. Feudalism reigns, in the eye of Pope Altman and his Roman Rationalist Church we are all sinners for failing to provide a meaningful profit.
A blog is a way out. Well it would be... it's hosted on Github, owned by Microsoft. Perhaps in the future I will migrate this to my own server, maybe using that dotmeow thing that'll exist in the near future.
However, despite all that I just said, I don't plan on abandoning our lovely fucked up feudal societies we all live in. God, imagine only ever communicating via blog post?! This isn't the stone age!
What I do plan to do is to adapt. See if I can drag everyone who's found me with me into whatever new places I find, nurture the weak nascent brand I have found myself possessing, and eventually. Maybe. I will win.
what does winning even mean in this context? i'm not sure. We'll find out :)
i would urge everyone reading this to do something similar as well! The feudal lords aren't razing our fields yet... well only some of our fields. so we have time! lets find out where the next internet will be before its too late!
we don't need to abandon everything and start running around like a Jamie Paige song, but i would start looking now.
i'll go see if i can implement an RSS feed here so i can. Make this thing actually useable. Maybe fix up the CSS too, this website isn't the prettiest thing right now.
